Hmmm...

question: If you know that you r not good in something, should you ignore ur weakness n focus on something else that you are already good in n make it perfect?? or should u try to " fix " ur weakness?

SO what is the correct answer? go for the good one, or improve on your weakness?? Of course if you choose to go for the both , improving your weakness and at the same time focus on something that u rare already good in, maybe that wont be possible.. so what will you answer be?

So, according to Vilfredo Pareto, an Italian economist 20/80 rule, 20% most valuable costumers will contribute to 80% of your profit... in that case, doing the right thing is more important that
than doing lots of things. In another words we, should focus our energy on the right thing....For example, Tiger Woods only participated in 4 major golf competition per year, fewer than any other professional golfer. Y? because he practise the 20/80 rule, he planned to focus only on the important competition..Imagine if he decides to go 4 all the golf competition , it will be thousand of it every year, do u think he can make it? . Ya, so know we know that focusing on the right thing is very important but which is the right thing to do? focusing on ur weakness or on ur stronger part?

People use to say:" where you fall, is where you get up" but is this true? In another words, if you r not good in something, ( u fall) , that means you must overcome your weakness? So, if you r not good in a subject, go u must go for tuition to improve on that subject? Albert Einstein is never good in his language, till 5 he still can't speak properly, so if he used all his time to improve in his language, he will never graduate and he can't focus on thing that he is good in, then maybe the equation E=Mc2 will not exist......so if where you fall, you should find some where else n stand up!!

the study of econ is to make full use of resources, or the efficiency of using resources to gain the most profit.. so which one will give you more profit? improve in something that you r weak in go good in?

Maybe after all is it just awaste of time thing which one to do ? The is no reason for us to think about it? Because no matter wht you do the profit will still be the same?

Well, i dunno, may be all these depends on the condition, people, time, place...etc, there is just to many factors so the conclusion is: no ultimate correct answer to this question

Kem Kesihatan Service

Place: Aman Suria Park(directly opposite Aman Suria)
Date: 16/6/07
Time: 0700-1300
PEople: Pusat Perkhidmatan Ahli Parlimen Petaling Utara Service Team
Yee En, Lim vincent aka axe man, kin meng, kian min, seck houng, seck wei, n lots of residents

Basically me yee en n my brother reach the park at 0700, didnt do much, just loaded all the table n chairs from the lorry. Then help to set up the table n place it at it respective places.. haha the ex- ntv newscaster n (Chinese) who wants to be a millionair was the mc for the day, he is quite friendly n helpful, he help us to arrange the tables n put table cothes.. haha i think i told he to arrange the table nicely ( in a order tone..ops.... )

the kem stared at 0800 but the opening ceremony was at 1100, so basically we didnt do much , except setting up tables, carrying water , n went back to school to take some equipment, we r all having fun behind the stage......

1130 we had our telematch, the 1st game was very kelam kabut, n safety precaution wasnt taken, all the small kids just rush to pick up sweets from the floor using the chopstick n one of the parents told us that the game was too dangerous as they may other kids with the chopstick in their hand......but after that the other two games went well. Lesson learnt: crowd control is the most important thing in having such even

then we had a special lucky draw for all the staff ( st john, lpkn...n us) the present--one nite stay in awana, 2 free "fly" ticket n a one day unlimited theme park ride ticket. Vincent was saying that if we can get 3 of it, then the 6 of us can go up Genting together...( all of us r dreaming of course) haaha but u noe i got it!! So lucky, but the no. i got1025 was also the no. for one St john guy, so actually u can say that the probabilitly of me getting it was higher.... n the probability of yee en n kian min getting the prize was 0!!!!!! why?? cause they got the same no. but one of it should be in the box for the organiser to draw...so their no. is not in the lucky draw box, conclusion: im lucky...

Then we have lunch- kelana seafood n bye bye....next kem kesihatan 12/8 SS2 if not mistaken

Anyone wants to go to Genting??

WSJ 17th PJ briefing

21st world scout jamboree is only 1month ++ away.... after this briefing I got to admit just that how unprepared we are for the jamboree....So for the briefing, it was held in Miss May Suan's house, the house was so big that it looked like a hotel...

So we sang the jamboree song JAMBO , see the tents that we r going to sleep in it during the jamboree, and lots of Q nA session...... after almost everything, Sir Eric gave us a wake up call ...... hope all woken up n start taking the jamboree preparation seriously, then Sir Yoon Kong warn us about he weather in UK n sleeping in cold weather..... luckily he tells us about this or else i am won't be bring much thing 4 sleeping.... now to sleep in UK i will be wearing thick socks, long john inside, long sleeve thick shirt, long pants, gloves, cap, n seelping on sleeping bag n blanket... wow that alot... well we need to prepare for the worse.....

Yes, this year is 100 years of scouting, so during the jamboree there will be a special activity called scouting SUnrise on brownsea island, where each country will only send one boy n one girl to participate in it, they will be celebrating scouting sunrise on the island- where BP had his first camp with the other 400+ participant from all around the world.

HAHA Victoria was chosen to participate in the event, n her "boy friend" is from Sabah troop 18th Tawau , name?? hahah i forgotten , i think his name is chan something something...... leng zhai?? tall? whatever, i dunno, just know that he is from Sabah... more stories after the jamboree.. haha ( lucky Victoria don't read my blog )

Well actually i really wanted to be selected to participate in the event, but after Miss May Suan explained about the whole event......Now I think that i "sam fok hao fok" , I dont think i am suitable for such a great event Ok. people look at my English : my Ingalnd viry high.... can you imagine if i go for sunrise on brownsea island i will be talking to all the angmoh wit my broken English:

angmoh: Nice to meet you! I'm Bush from USA.
seck houng: nice to meet you... eh ...eh... I'm Seck Houng from Malaysia.
angmoh: How do you do??
seckhoung: eh..... so-so lah.
angmoh: ??
seckhoung: u know ok ok ??
angmoh: ....... Can you tell me about ur country?
seckhoung: Malaysia ah, is a great country u know ah that this year we r celebrating our 50 years of Merdeka ah? Dunno le, i tell u ah, 2007 is vist Malaysia year ! we, got many many good food in Malaysia.. Laksa curry mee, ,rojak ..................
angmoh: -.-|||
seck houng: eh, talk to me lah, u don wan to be my fen meh?? wait ah wait ah......!!!!
angmoh (faster walks away): where is this weirdo from..? malaysia?? ok next time stay away from Malaysian
.....N there goes our country good name, flushed down the longkang by seck houng..... shia shui!!

Conclusion: Having a good command of English is very important, or you will loss plenty of opurtunity..... oh well during the sunrise ceremony in the jamboree site, a scout from each nation will be selected and asked to carry their country’s flag onto stage and also to be present and renew the scout promise together....HEHEHE one down another one to go !!!!

p/s: from nowon i will try to improve my English...if ever i say any lah meh ah ,,le loh ...etc, pls KINDLy remind me.. thanks..

Family Reunion

Family reunion, how i love and dislike them... Family reunion is very important, i myself will make it a must for myself to go, even i am busy, lazy, etc.... Come on how many times in a year can u meet up with your cousins uncle, aunty ... maybe only during CNY ?? OK back to the point, i think that family reunion is a very important, because u get to strengthen ties with all you relatives.......... n so why i dislike it?? Well when you r n a very very big family, u some times tend to forget their name.... n i always get the embarrass feeling when meeting up with them... It will always be Hi! HI! then process to delicious food on the table...... after every few hours of eating, then bye bye..... typical family reunion.

Maybe I am not proactive in socialising, or it could be that I am never good with name which is true......there is a junior i kept on calling him throughout the whole camp to do work but i never fail to call him by the wrong name.....Or maybe it is the generation gap?? Yes i have generation gap with my cousin.... most of the are married, some with children much older than me, some of them r even older then my father, so do you think i can play whatever small kid game with my uncle?? NO...... What about their children?? As you know i am so out dated with all the tech-no stuff, it was like when i knew there is something called "play station " their r all playing PS2 already...Ya so can't blame me if I can't remember all my relatives name....more over I only meet them sometimes once in the year, n there are about hundred names to remember.... so still consider Ok Ok Lah if I can remember some of the more elder n important ones n recognise the rest as some body's so n so....

Well sad to say that is how "much" i know about my family The "lim" side...... We r a big family, sometimes they even joke that it is good enough so recognize ur relatives then not knowing them at all. Yes Yes, the r some relatives that i only knew their existence but never meet them, n they r all around the world, some in USA, LOndon, France...... worst we never got in contact with them for few decades, like my father's elder brother( i think so... if not then is my father's somebody ) went to USA to study in some 40 years ago n never came back .... lost contact....

Maybe some day i will be walking pass one of my relatives without know how he or she might me... Who knows..???

But, luckily I know everyone from my mothers side, maybe because most of them lived in Penang -- a small island , n therefore easier 4 us to have a gathering??

So, the point is : " Get to KNow ur family as much as possible", but this is this not the point of today entry..........after the super long introduction, it is time to write about the main point i should be writing about.. Family reunion, not my but the Tan family Yes Mr Tan's aunty is my classmate!!! OMG !!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!...

Tan's Aunty: Do u all scout always go to people's house for meeting??
Seck Houng : Ya... we got troop meeting, patrol meeting, gathering meeting, Plc meeting.... all sort of meeting.. Why?
Tan's Aunty: Is there a scout by the name Tan ??
Seck Houng : Hmmmmm.... which scout....erh , r you referring to those seniors who come n help?
Tan's Aunty : Ya ..
Seck HOung : U mean Tan Aun Wei??
Tan's Aunty: ya thats rite, he is my nephew..
Seck Houng n all the scouts around in the class ( speechless)
Tan's Aunty : bla bla bla, continues to explain n answer all our questions ...HAHAHA everyone was laughing...

Now things tat might happen after the ' reunion'

1. bully the aunty n answer the fist of Mr Tan
2. In future all scouts will be saluting to her so that they will not get any complains from the aunty n get killed during troop meeting
3. MAybe she is a spy n always helps her nephew to keep an eye on me, make sure i do all my scout work, n do not cheat on him

OR it could be something GOOOD

1." Punish me n i will tell ur aunty who will tell ur grand aunty who will tel ur mum tat u bully me MUa HAHHHHAHAHHa!!! i am so evil "

2. we can gossip n share info about Mr .Tan... ALL the sercet will be know...

Sorry JAnice kept on calling you aunty here, making you sounds so old... ops am I suppose to not let anyone know who the aunty is?? hahaha nevermind lah..... it is good to share your happy family reunion with others..... beside ur nephew is a great guy, be pround n let everyone one about it !!

Anyone with some more uncle aunty cousin nephew in-laws.... related to the boxing kangaroo??

Open Talk Speech

Yes, because i don't have an opportunity to give a long long long long speech during the camp open talk, i shall now type out all the feeling thoughts n craps tat was in my head tat day.

" This is the 2nd time i became the camp coordinator, it was much more easier compared to the last time... the camp is nice, very thing went as planned. I am very happy n satisfied with this camp. Last year troop camp was a modern camp, but this year troop camp is a 'fast" camp , especially on the first day. Through this camp i think our standard has increased, i can see the changes in this camp. so maybe the next camp we can try something more challenging something different.

But the are a few things that we can improve on
1. for qm n fqm we need to improve on the estimation of items n food

2. discipline. Low during the camp, maybe i am also slagging during the camp... Hahaha but at least i make it a point to be the 1st to wake up n start hitting the cangkul with the hammer like nobody business till everyone wakes up, the best alarm clock i ever knew.....

3. mentality. maybe some r just form 1 they dont noe wat to do, n just stone there, some complain too tired, hungry .. this n that.... but this is a camp, I used to have a mentally that if u go camp u must be very tired, suffer, u must keep on doing work till u r exhausted , then only u can sleep..... I dont know how n where i get this mentality from, maybe after a few camp in school while i was just a form 1?? But every since than i will keep on working ones i am camping, that explains why u can hear all the " thing thing thang thang " sound during late night. I used to do so without knowing the reason...

But then again is this type of mentality correct?? To me there is no such thing as a 100% correct or wrong mentality in a camp, each camp should have a suitable mentality .e.g. If it is a leisure camp , then you must try to enjoy the camp, n the jungle, if it is a training camp, then don;t stop training yourself in the camp, try to learn as much as possible from the camp.

I was stubborn n didnt really notice about all this.last time, to me work like hell in camp is the best camping method, but form this camp i noticed that we have to pace our self, sometime all you need to do is just sit down n look around you n you will find something different that u always ignore because you r too busy working...

If you thing that the camp is tiring tat means u r working, n you will know tat after going back from this camp u r a stronger person....

That is all for the my speech"

Claps from everyone.......tq tq. everyone should be sleeping by now..

Troop Camp June 2007-Report

Yeah man this is a great camp !!! actually I should say that this is my 'dream ' camp. Yes i dreamed to have such a camp, sleeping in a double decker, have all the gadget in the camp especially able to have to a proper black box and gateway.... never had all these together in one camp since i was in form 1, but back then the black box was just a hole covered with a piece of fly sheet and the gateway was just two bamboo tied to the trees, and for all the previous camps that i have been to was either having only the black box or only the gateway. For this camp we had 2 BLACK BOX !! With platforms!!! haha maybe some of you maybe wondering why is Seck Houng so excited about the black box ? Because people always say that a public toilet reflects a nation, so I think that a Black box can reflect how good is a camp! NExt time we should spend more time to build a 5-star black box with soil flush, tissue paper holder, roof, lights, handers, and maybe even a pocket for mp3 so we can listen to music while doing some big business, hahaha tat time everyone will be lining up to go to the black box, n we shall call it a toilet camp!!! .... i am thinking way too fAR.
(above)The toilet built by the heroic Geoffrey KOk that resisted the smelly aroma and put his life to to build this amazing black box !!!!!( u may refer him as the black box hero........ )

Great activities- one of the most successful activity is Backwoodsman cooking, though Alwin started the fire, KIn Meng prepared the soil n food , I didn't do much in this activity, but this is the 1st time all the food we cooked was edible and none of it was wasted, we did mud fish, mud egg, underground egg, mud chicken, baked potato.... I learnt a lot from this activity.

Pak Zham KAi (mud chicken)

Another activity that i enjoyed was boat building, we made a suppose-to-be-speed-boat raft using bamboo as the material n veins as ropes. WE named it BLACK PEARL, it wasn't the fastest but it was the strongest, the lashing on the boat was still tight till the day we left....which is actually just the next day

Setting up a good komando course wasn't that easy.... we seted up the course but it was just "mah-mah-tei"... I kept on asking the juniors what is the best activity, but none of hem gave a remark on the halangan komando.... :( as if they all forgotten about it, but never mind the next time i will set a super course to torture them n make them remember it for ever HAHHAHA.. so evil.

Can you believe it we actually practised for the malam kebudayaan ??? all the seniors n scouters, kept on singing n singing for such a long period that i think that all the juniors knew wat we were going to per form later..... But when it came to the real performance all of us were just too tired, pressured, stage fright, and didn't performed well. However the main purpose of the performance was to inspire the juniors to make use of the natural racecourses around us such as bamboo to make different types of instruments... i even made a flute out of a bamboo , don't believe me??

Overall this camp has less activities activity compared to the last one, but it is great....

n great people in the camp.... All of us were great. 1st time hiked in the camp site so fast, chopped the 60 bamboos by 2 pm n start sleeping by 12 on the first day!!! Unbelievable!! Until now i am still wondering r we just lucky to have bamboo by the river side or we r so CHUN?? Whatever i am very happy with the first day progress though we did some mistakes.....

Am I friendly during the camp?? I don't think so ..... some of them just looked so sad lonely all alone in the camp, i felt bad that i can help them. But I think i am quite linear during the camp, actually if can i will not wan to down anyone in camp because it is just a waste of time n energy.... Next time IF i still got the chance punishment shouldn't be pumping, but instead " Go make me 5 candle holder and 10 hanger for me !!!" tat way we can put all the energy in to good use, hahaha n this is called energy efficiency !!

Good food... I tasted the best spaghetti in camp !! It was very delicious the sauce was very thick n creamy, Good job Caely !! Just tat the serving was a little bit small.....n tat also explains why the camp fee is only RM 26, excluding transportation ( sponsored by troop )

So after reading this long entry, the conclusion is : the camp rox!!!

BTW we were surposed to go back after lunch, but we went back early n reached school by 1030, n guess who we met?? Or should i say who spotted us ?? Yes Yes Its our Penolong kanan Kurikulum ......so now i have to prepared a complete paper work from A-Z, telling him wat is going on....... Now let me quote the famous dialog from spiderman " With great camp come with a great work load of paperwork"

So now for the moment that is all for the mid-year camp, next up will be 21st WSJ , n maybe i try to have a senior camp for the F4s during the next term holidays?? anyone interested..?

So, now the real conclusion for this entry ..... Anyone willing to help me with my paperwork???
