Recently, I've read a newspaper article, it's about tertiary education.( last weeks paper)
They interviewed a few people to share their university experience.
One of them was Tony Pua, the current PJU MP. He graduated from Oxford.
Well, it was quite interesting to read about his university experience.
He said that in uni, everything in on your own. For tutorial, his lecturer will just tell them next week's topic, and a list of reference books to look up, thats all. The rest is on your own, you got to prepared for the next tutorial by searching, reading, taking important points from the reference books. Well, it is impossible to read every single book on the given list, hence you need to learn how to pick up important points, a skill which he finds it useful till today. And the next tutorial the whole class would just discuss the topic. There is no such thing as spoon-feeding.
Just wondering, anyone had such "style" of tutorial before?
A friend once told me: " in college/uni how much you acheive depends on how high you aim"
It's true, I agree with it, and it actually applies to life too.
