Just got a call from my friend (captain) in my previous work place. I was asked to work for a few hours tonight. They have a serious lack of staff, and remember tonight is Friday night. It's gonna be very busy.
Well I rejected. I fully understand how my friends working there might suffer when they have a lack of staff (I've experienced it numerous times), and I totally know how each extra staff can make a difference between heaven and hell, but I just got to reject it.
If I agree for once, there will be a second time, third, forth and so on.
Call me selfish, and I feel really really feel terrible to turn my friend down, but I need to stay strong!!
Even if they pay me double of triple the ordinary pay, I might be reluctant to work there.
Try picturing that you have lots of customers coming in non stop, you try to do your best to serve each n everyone of them well, but you just feel so helpless because you don't have an extra pair of hands, you can't perform kagebunshi no jutsu, and you can't have superpowers to help you serve customers better. To make matters worse, there isn't enough clean cutlery, all the table cloths are black in colour, and the all the mocktails aren't avaible, the supply of cold beer is running low, all the beverage coming out from the bar are below par, customers are complaining, you turn back to get help and found that you are all alone. How would you feel?
I don't want to be in such situation ( and I believe no one wanted), yet by rejecting my friend, I'm placing them in a such situation. Sounds contracticting?
Hahaha thinking too much, n stressing myself up too much while I was still working made me not so happy and thus leading to me quitting the job
.
Btw that's not my restaurant also, why am I thinking so much??
