27 Jan 2008 was my cousin sister's wedding. After dating with her boyfriend for the pass 7 years, they finally got married yesterday!!Congrats!!
To make this event successful, i joined the WPSTF. What the h**k is tWPSTF you may ask, well let me tell you WPSTF stands for wedding preparation special task force. Went to my aunty's house during Saturday morning ( wedding eve) and started my work as a WPSTF crew. Well didn't do much during that time because the is nothing much i can do, except tiding the house.
Went back to my aunty's house at 5pm on the same day, to prepare for the dinner which was scheduled at 6pm. besides arranging tables, chairs, food, preparing drinks, hanging up the light and etc..., i was also in charged of deco. Actually self appointed to do the deco. And actually not really decorating the whole house, i just hung up some balloon on the front gate. Well my 'deco' was a failure, cause no one notice the existent of the balloons, except a small little girl....
Well the dinner ended at 11pm, cleared everything and by 12am it was time to "pai ang kong". reached home by 1230 am. sleep.
woke up at 6am the following day, or should i say the same day , went to my aunty's house to do the same old job as yesterday - arranging cleaning and etc... The groom arrive at 1030 am, and there were the tea ceremony refreshments etc...My brother was the chosen one in this wedding, he was chosen to open the car door for the groom, serve tea to him etc, and he got 4 ang paus just for doing all those things. more details in my brother's blog.
During noon we had a wedding lunch in HAi PIng restaurant. I was surprise that the sequence of the dishes is the same as the previous wedding dinner.
First - appetiser
Second - so called shark fin soup
Third- lemon chicken
Forth- prawn
fifth- vegetable
sixth- fish
seventh- fried rice
last- dessert
I was told by my mum that the sequence of the dishes was always the same, even during her wedding
And as a committed WPSTF crew, my duty at that time was to eat eat and eat( wasting food in not good). the prefect job for me!!!
the wedding lunch ended at 3pm, the food was nice but the service, not so good, well what can u expect from a restaurant, 5 star service??
So for those who plan to get married in the future: If you want a high class environment and service have the dinner in a hotel, if you prefer better food, go for a restaurant.
one wedding down, 2 more to go.....
