Sabah, Bumi Bawah Bayu

Last Sunday, We (as in the whole family) went for our once in the blue moon, even rarer than a full eclipse appearing across the sky, family trip to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah!
It is not that we don't travel much, we travel quite often between Penang and PJ, occasionally to Johor, but this is the first time the whole family is going on a plane to East Malaysia. I'll assure you that this historical date will be marked down.

OK, I really like to blog about my trip to KK, however my sis (yes I have a sister) is busy updating her blog with tonnes of photos from the trip, hence here the link to her blog, and you can view all the beautiful, breath-taking, handsome/pretty people scene from Sabah, see where we when, what we ate etc, etc....

Ah, the benefit of having siblings, it is unnecessary to repeat everything on the same trip, in 2 different blogs rite. Furthermore, we need to help save up Internet space, right?

Sabah, land below the wind. How did Sabah get such a name? It is not even a single wind (can you count wind? )in KK, Penang is even windy-er than KK.

So lets write something that isn't in my sis blog.

Things that are plentiful in KK:
1. Roundabout
2。4x4
3. Seafood
4. Catholic Churh - St. Paul, St. Mary, St. Henry, St. Philp, St. Francis, St. Teressa ...on the way to Kinabalu Park, we easily passed by 10+ of them.

Things that are opposite of plentiful in KK:
1.Kopitiam- in contrast to the amount of it in Penang, now I really understand why Penang is a food lovers heaven!
They don't really have a hawker center where you can eat all kinds of food in a place, each restaurant only has one stall
2. Indians- not trying to be racist here, but it is true!!

Things that are expensive
1. Non-seafood- the chicken rice, mee cost Rm5, but they come in quite a big portion.
2. Drinks- 1.80 for bali, and Rm2 for a cup of Milo'O ice.

Things that are cheap
1. Seafood

KK must go/do/eat:

1. Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park
- Mamutik, small, but I personally like this Island the most, more coral & fish to see while snorkeling.
-Manukan, Longer beach, with chalet there.
-Sapi, small isk\land with a small beach.

2. Kinabalu park
- It about 88km/2 hours drive from the KK, but definately worth travelling there. The park HQ is 1500m above sea level, and the air is fresher and cooler, better than Genting's or Cameron's
- then you can travel to Kundasang, it very near the park. It is just a small village with lots of vegetable, and a good view of Mount Kinabalu

3. Kuih Pinjaram
- A deep fried kuih that looks like UFO ( should tah pau some back)

4. Wee Ya chicken rice
- the pyramid chicken rice, looks good and taste good too!
